The Perfect Surroundings
Our Chiropractic Clinic is based in the Cotswold town of Lechlade-on-Thames. The clinic was set up in the summer of 2007 and has gone from strength to strength.
Our aim is to provide the best chiropractic care to all its patients. We are committed to provide exceptional healthcare that meets the requirements of each patient. We aim to educate patients about their conditions and equip them with the skills to take an active role in the recovery process; by teaching rehabilitative techniques.
The clinic has facilities to provide manipulative, mobilisation and myofascial techniques, acupuncture, ultrasound and digital x-rays.
WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?
Chiropractic is a primary healthcare profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and management of conditions that are due to mechanical dysfunction of the neuromusculoskeletal (nerves, muscles, tendons, joints and ligaments) systems, with particular interest in the relationship of the spinal joints and their effect on the nervous system.
Treatment consists of a wide range of manipulation (adjustments), mobilisation and soft tissue techniques. It is aimed to restore and maintain improved mechanics of the joints and soft tissues, thus relieving symptoms and improving the health and wellbeing of the body. Manipulation involves the application of carefully directed and controlled pressure to a dysfunctional joint. As the adjustment is performed, the joint is moved and the surrounding muscles stretched, thus encouraging the restoration of normal joint movement.
In addition to the adjustments, the chiropractor will offer individual advice about the patient’s lifestyle and prescribe specific stretching and strengthening exercises to help manage the condition, speed up and maintain recovery and prevent recurrences in the future.
Your First Visit
The first visit lasts about an hour.
HISTORY
Initially, your chiropractor will start with taking a thorough medical case history, which will include your presenting complaint and your past health history.
PHYSICAL EXAMINATION
You will then undergo an appropriate physical examination, including neurological and orthopaedic tests, with emphasis on the neuromusculoskeletal system (nerves, muscles and joints). It may be essential to investigate other systems such as your heart, lungs and abdomen to rule out other causes of your problem.
